St Hilda's N2 Annual Concert

Is the time of the year for St Hilda's N2 Annual Concert.

Leaenn was very excited about her concert and woke up very early to get prepared.

Leaenn with her dance partner, Jayden.

Last year, Leaenn was selected to give a short speech to introduce her class performance to the audience. Mummy was so proud of her little achievement and asked her a few times if she was selected again this year. Leaenn's answer was always  "No, I don't think so. Mdm Tini has chosen other people." Mummy was a little disappointed and console myself that "There are always people who are better."

Few days before the concert, PoPo told me that she saw Leaenn seem to be practising some speeches in her room. Mummy told PoPo "Nay, I don't think so. I asked Leaenn and she said she was not selected. In any case, teacher did not pass me any script for Leaenn to practise like the previous year. I think she see her friends rehearsing the speech and just try to imitate them."

On the concert day, Daddy and Mummy were totally caught off guard and did not get ready our cameras when Leaenn and one of her classmates stepped forward to greet the audience and introduce her class performance. This CHEEKY little girl!! At 4 years old, she could keep the secret for so long just to surprise us. Awesome job in delivering the speech. Steady and compose!

Daddy, Mummy and PoPo were caught off guard when Leaenn delivered her speech and we were too engrossed in taking photos and videos and did not realised that Keaen Boy went all the way to the front of the stage to support his Jie Jie until we saw the photos/videos. HAHHAHAH

Scoot, scoot, scott

It is time for Leaenn to upgrade from her princess scooter that Jiu Jiu bought to a 2-wheeled scooter. While getting a new scooter for Leaenn, we decided to get a 3-wheeled scooter for Keaen to play. 1 week is all it takes for my little man of 20 months to scoot like a pro.  He never fails to make some eyes turn when he scoots. Proud parents we are. kekekekke.....

I have 2 CROWNS!

Kiasu Mummy had initally arranged for Leaenn's 1st dental visit at National Dental Centre in July 2012 when she turned 3. However, as Mummy was laughed by her colleagues for being KIASU, Mummy postponed the appointment to Sep 2012.  When Sep 2012 arrived, Mummy and Daddy hope to give Leaenn a good start in her dental journey and decided to go for a private pediatric dentist instead.  Mummy took a long time to research who is the BEST pediatric dentist in Singapore and this dragged on for months.

Unsuspecting Mummy never thought that Leaenn would have tooth decay at such a young age and by the time Leaenn went to Dr Rashid @ The Kids Dentist in May 2013, ........Leaenn's 2 first molars have decayed to such a state that pulpotomy procedures and crowning are required and the procedure on each molar would take about 30 to 45mins.  Dr Rashid is not confident that Leaenn would be able to sit through the procedure and suggested to put Leaenn under GA for the procedure. Alternatively, we could wait till Leaenn is older but we are taking a risk that an emergency operation may be needed should the molars become infected.

Reluntant to put Leaenn's under GA, we went for a 2nd opinion with Dr Ng Jing Jing at The Oral Care Centre who suggested to try out and see if Leaenn is able to sit through the procedure.

Leaenn had her 1st pulpotomy procedure on 1 June 2013. She was brave and only sobbed a little and got slightly restless towards the end of the procedure which lasted about 30 mins.

Leaenn went for her 2nd procedure two weeks later and this time it was a traumatising experience. As Leaenn knew what to expect, she screamed and cried throughout the procedure. My heart ached so much and really regretted for not being kiasu enough and bring her to the dentist earlier. Thank God for a skilful Dr Ng and all was done in approximately 30 mins.

Leaenn has gotten 2 silver crowns.

Dr Ng is indeed a thoughtful and caring lady. She rewarded Leaenn with a REAL CROWN.
