Farewell Little Skool-House

Times flies. The first entry in my blog is “First Day in Skool” and now it is time for Leaenn to say Goodbye!
It has been a year since Leaenn was enrolled in Little Skool House. With the arrival of Keaen, it will be hard for PoPo to fetch Leaenn in the afternoon. I’m against the idea that Leaenn stays in childcare full day and wait for Daddy to fetch her. Most importantly, is a big NO NO for Leaenn and Keaen to spend the days apart from each other.
Hence, Daddy and Mummy made the painful decision to end this chapter in Leaenn’s life. It is really a tough and sad decision as Leaenn has adapted so well in childcare and made so many friends. I think is really a great idea to have your kids spend half day in childcare and half day in the loving care of PoPo and Gong Gong. You get the best of both worlds. I love the independence that Leaenn has developed in childcare. At the age of 2, she feeds herself, cleanses herself after meals, lays her own mattress and keeps it after her nap, goes to toilet herself, drinks milk from cups, etc......

Josh and I have decided that if given the chance again, we would definitely let Keaen experience childcare life as well.

Besides Leaenn, Josh and I have made many little friends in the childcare as well. Josh (well-known as Leaenn's Daddy) enjoys breakfast cum chat session with the kiddos every morning. Though I only go to the childcare once or twice a week, the kids seem to know me well and it is really heartwarming to see how those kiddos have grown during the past 1 year.  Even PoPo who initally felt upset about sending Leaenn to childcare now feels sad that Leaenn is leaving as she herself has made many little friends. (Oh dear, I feel so sad typing this.)

Would I ever meet my little friends again.....
Jinfeng and his classic cry, Branden and his trademark scarfs, Chloe and her big round eyes, Katelyn-Mae and her no nonsense killer stares,  Nicole and her morning blues, pretty Iyesha and her messy hair, melancholy looking Adam, Ah Beng looking Axel, ever sleepy Dawn, doll-like looking Clarissa, blur looking QiQi, princess looking Vivienne, cute looking Christopher, bubbly Shannon and not forgetting our cheerful Aaron who is Leaenn's best pal in Skool.

Farewell our little friends,

Aaron: Leaenn, your PoPo is here.
Axel: Leaenn, Leaenn, your PoPo is here.

Special thanks to the teachers, who have taken good care of Leaenn,

Teacher Nina, Kamilah, Nursyafiqah &

VP Sharifa, Admin Soe Tin & Pantry aunties who have been cooking Leaenn's meals.
And not forgetting all the security uncles and aunties at OCBC lobby who adores Leaenn and have been showering her with biscuits, sweets, chocolates almost every day,

Snow Fun @ Tanglin

1 year ago......

Why? Why? Why?

Leaenn: Mummy, why the shop is closed?
Mummy: Because the aunty went home and sleep.
Leaenn: Why the aunty went home and sleep?
Mummy: Because the aunty is tired.
Leaenn: Why the aunty is tired?
Mummy: Because the aunty has been working the whole day.
Leaenn: Why the aunty has been working the whole day?
Mummy: Because the aunty needs to earn money.
Leaenn: Why the aunty needs to earn money?
Mummy: Because the aunty needs money to buy food to eat.
Leaenn: Why aunty needs to buy food to eat?
Mummy: Because the aunty is hungry.
Leaenn: Why the aunty is hungry?
Mummy: Because the aunty is like Leaenn, always hungry.
Leaenn: Why the aunty like En En?
Mummy (gave up liao): I don't know.
Leaenn (frowning): Why you don't know!!!!!

Daddy, remember ah......

Saturday evening, we went to Suntec and had a hard time finding our car in the carpark.....

The next morning, as we entered Raffles City carpark, basement 3, Leaenn saw the word "B3"

Leaenn: Daddy, B3! Remember where you park your car ah.......
(Josh and I are greatly surprised and amused.)

Which finger?

Leaenn was playing with a box and hurt one of her fingers.

Leaenn (Crying): Mummy, I want to tell Daddy I hurt my finger when he comes back.

20 mins later, she came to mummy crying again,

Leaenn: Mummy, I want to tell Daddy I hurt my finger when he comes back.
Mummy: Sure.
Leaenn (Showing me all her fingers): But which one?
(hahhha.... apparently the pain and redness have gone and she doesn't remember which finger and she just want Daddy to sayang her.)

Mummy: You like mummy to be bui bui?
Leaenn: No, I don't like.
Mummy: After Di Di comes out, mummy no more bui bui.
Leaenn: After Di Di comes out, mummy can carry En En.
[Poor girl, mummy hasn't carry her for long for quite a while. =..(]

Mummy and Daddy so noisy

Leaenn: I like to watch soccer
Mummy: You like to watch soccer with Mummy and Daddy?
Leaenn: No, I don't like. Mummy and Daddy so loud. Mummy and Daddy so noisy.

What happen if Di Di cries?

Mummy asked Leaenn: What happen if Di Di cries?
(Mummy was expecting model answer like, "I will pat Di Di" or "I will sayang Di Di")

Leaenn: Then Di Di cannot go McDonaldo. Only Jie Jie can go. Jie Jie never cry.....

Leaenn spilled some Milo on her feet in school and Mummy brought her to wash her feet.

Mummy: Wash your feet by rubbing each foot with the other like how Mummy taught you at school. (Actually, Mummy taught Leaenn at home and not at school. Mummy spoke too fast and before realizing it.....)

Leaenn: No! You taught me at HOME, not in SCHOOL ......

Leaenn: Daddy, can you carry me?
Mummy: U big jie jie now, cannot ask people to carry.
Leaenn: (Smiling slyly), I small mei mei….

Daddy told Mummy that Leaenn wanted to poo poo.
So Mummy rushed Leaenn to the toilet.
Mummy: Why didn’t you tell mummy earlier that you want to poo poo?
Leaenn: I told Daddy already.
Leaenn: Tonight I tell you ok.

I Share With You

Mummy gave Leaenn a pudding and while she was happily eating, she pointed to the pudding next to our table.

Leaenn: Mummy, is that yours?
Mummy: No, Leaenn, is Hosanna’s.
Leaenn: Where is yours?
Mummy: Mummy doesn’t have.
Leaenn: I share with you (Feeding mummy 1 scoop. =)).
