Happy 1st Month
1 month has passed since Keaen Boy came into our lives.
Compared to Leaenn, Keaen is so much easier to take care of, or perhaps it is because Josh and I are much more experienced.
I didn't really enjoy my 1st maternity leave as Leaenn was a difficulty baby and it was really stressful to take care of her. She was rather impatient during milk feeds and it was pretty stressful to latch her. As a result, I resorted to milk expressing and bottle fed her for a full 1 year. Milk expressing, washing, sterilising of pumps and warming milk were all daily affairs. Any delay in feeding her and the entire block would be able to hear her roaring cry. In addition, she refused to sleep during the day and it was really tiring to take care of her. However, she was a good NIGHT baby as she was knocked out by the end of the day.
On the other hand, Keaen is able to latch pretty well since day 1 and I do feel quite relax taking care of him. The challenging part during this maternity leave is to handle both kids at the same time. Leaenn is a caring sister who dotes on her little brother and is eager to take care of him. However, sometimes she is overly helpful and too eager to help. No matter how helpful and caring, Leaenn is still a kid who sometimes gets cranky and fights for attention. The nightmare is when both cry at the same time.
